iPod Warranty: What You Need To Know About Apple Warranties And More |

|
iPod Warranty Basics Whenever you purchase any type of product which may need repair, or whose parts might need replacement in the future, the product warranty is the first thing that you will refer to. If you have an iPod Classic, mini, nano, shuffle or iTouch, then you need to check out the iPod warranty details so that you would know who to contact or what to do in case there is something wrong with the unit. The best way to go in case your iPod is in need of repair is to read the product warranty which came with the package of the unit. If this is not available anymore, then you can visit Apple’s official site and either download the PDF file for the hardware warranties. Also, if you are unsure about the date that the unit was purchased, you can key in the serial number on the Apple support site to check if the product is still in-warranty. Basically, Apple’s warranty for every iPod unit sold covers a period of one year after the product is bought. If the unit malfunctions within that span of time and any type of repair is needed, Apple will repair the unit for you free of charge. However, there are shipping and handling fees involved. APP for iPod Just like when purchasing a car where you can get an extended auto insurance, Apple offers a similar insurance package for their iPod units. This is called the “APP for iPod” which is an extended support and service warranty. After the one year limited iPod warranty has lapsed and if you have APP for iPod, then the services and repairs for the unit will still be free of charge for the two succeeding years. One thing that you need to remember, though, is that the APP for iPod should be purchased within the one-year period that the limited warranty is still in place. Or, you can immediately sign up for it as soon as the unit is bought. Expired Apple Warranties It is well and good that the iPod unit that you have covers the repairs and services one year after the unit is bought. But what if the problems start ccurring after the warranty has expired and you do not have the APP for iPod extended warranty? Your option in this case is to pay the service fees which will be charged by Apple to repair your unit out-of-warranty. Battery replacement, repairs and unit replacement is also offered online for iPod owners whose warranties are already expired. |
